Vicki trained as a doctor at the University of Melbourne, and gained honours in many subjects. She developed a love of Obstetrics and Gynaecology whilst a medical student at the Royal Womens Hospital, and decided this was her specialty despite a senior colleague telling her the life was too hard!

Vicki then completed her intern and surgical residency at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne before commencing specialist training at the Royal Womens Hospital. Vicki went on to further study at the Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne and St John’s Hospital, Chelmsford, UK. Ater qualifying as a specialist, Vicki spent another 3 years in England in Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

Vicki was awarded the gold medal for first placed candidate in the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists examinations in 1994, and the June Pash Prize. Vicki returned to Australia in 2001 to work in private Obsetrics and Gynaecology practice and as a consultant at both the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Royal Womens Hospital. This breadth of training means that Vicki can look after both high and low risk women and undertake all types of birth -‐ natural births (including twin and breech and VBAC), each of the types of forcep and ventouse deliveries when they are required and emergency and elective caesareans.

Over the years, Vicki realized she most loved getting to know her patients who were having babies, and helping them achieve the birth and family they desired. As a result, Vicki now chooses to concentrate on private obstetric practice, looking after pregnant women and those women and couples planning a baby or having trouble conceiving. Her philosophy of birth is to get to know you, listen to your preferences and decide together (with her expert guidance) on the birth that will suit you best. As a mother, Vicki has learned to juggle professional and family commitments.

When she is not delivering babies or looking after her own, Vicki’s other interests include travel, reading, movies, shopping for lovely children’s clothes and creating ludicrously elaborate children’s birthday cakes and parties! Once she is sure your pregnancy is safe and well, she is very happy to chat and give expert advice on all these subjects!
