Dr Veenu Mubarak will attend the John Flynn Respiratory Centre for outpatient consultations twice a week commencing on the 10th August and will assist us in providing a high standard of respiratory care in a timely manner for patients referred to our centre.
Dr Mubarak completed his medical degree in India and his postgraduate training in the United Kingdom and Australia. He completed his basic physician training at Mater Adult Hospital, Brisbane and his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. He then completed his fellowship in Sleep Medicine at The Prince Charles Hospital.
Dr Mubarak also holds the position of Director of Clinical Training (Royal Australasian College of Physicians), Associate Lecturer (Academic title) with University of QLD and is closely involved with Griffith University training medical students.
His main clinical area of interest includes chronic lung diseases (COPD, asthma, and bronchiectasis) and lung cancer. He also has special interest in various sleep related disorders and management of excessive sleepiness.
Dr Mubarak has research interest in non-invasive sampling of airways and is also involved in lung cancer mutation research.
Dr Veenu Mubarak is a very experienced and highly regarded Respiratory and Sleep Physician in Queensland and his wealth of knowledge and expertise will only enhance respiratory care at the John Flynn Respiratory Centre.
