A passion for skin cancer diagnosis and management lead to an Advanced Certificate in Dermatoscopy, followed by a Master’s Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine with Dean’s commendation from the University of Queensland. Over the past decade, he has practiced within private plastics clinics and hospital surgical lists to ascertain a very high standard of clinical and surgical competency, with a high caseload of skin cancer surgical work.
Today he holds a senior lecturer position within the University of Queensland and is a nominated lead clinical expert in review and support of Tasmania’s skin cancer surgical provision. He cares for a wide range of Tasmanians; receiving referrals from local and rural remote general practice, and specialists and offers his time to rural communities in Tasmania. Tristan is regularly involved in local surgical teaching for Tasmanian general practice registrars, now run by RACGP. Tristan is happy hosting local medical practitioners keen on upskilling in procedural skin cancer work and dermatoscopy by appointment. He is unable to take advanced skills registrars at this time.
Tristan is a Skin Cancer College of Australia accredited practitioner, and continues independent audit and continued professional development in the field of skin cancer medicine.
