After early careers in the Defence Forces and high-level Rugby Union, Toby completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and undertook the majority of his post graduate training at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Now based in Canberra, Toby works as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at The Canberra Hospital and as a Visiting Medical Officer at Calvary John James, Calvary Bruce, Genea and Queanbeyan Hospital. Having obtained Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), Toby also holds both a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Reproductive Medicine from The University of New South Wales. Toby is a lecturer at the Australian National University and a supervisor for registrars in obstetrics and gynaecology. Toby is the Medical Director of the Medical Officer Support Unit at the Canberra Hospital and charged with the responsibility of delivering education and training for interns and junior medical officers in the ACT. Toby is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who loves the art and science of medicine. Reproductive Medicine is an area of special interest and always at the forefront of advances in clinical practice. Toby fosters multidisciplinary care and enjoys close, positive working relationships with a number of other care providers, from General Practitioners, Endocrinologists and Midwives through to the team of specialist Obstetricians that support each other across the Hospitals in the ACT.
