He worked under the supervision of Professor Ian Whittle, a world renowned brain tumour specialist. He also gained vast experience in spinal surgery working with Patrick Statham and Tom Russell. In addition, he attended numerous conferences specific to treatment of brain tumours and spinal disorders.

Mr Han returned to Melbourne and established his private practice in Fitzroy. He has public appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital in Fitzroy and Monash Medical Centre at Clayton. Mr Han has kept pace with the development of new techniques in neurosurgery, in particular, complex spinal surgery and artificial disc procedures. He has attended numerous courses, both in the United States of America and Europe, in complex spinal surgery for degenerative spinal disease and various techniques in instrumentation for spinal instability. Whilst he has subspecialised in spinal surgery, he also has special interest in aneurysm and tumour surgery.
