Born and bred in Chinchilla, Dr Clarke has the experience of 5 years of hospital practice and 25 years of General Practice to his credit, both in England and in Australia, spending 10 years in Rockhampton prior to coming home to Chinchilla. As well as interests in rural medicine, he has Post Graduate Diploma qualifications in Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Skin Cancer Medicine.
During his time as a GP, Dr Clarke has developed a deep interest, and patient following, in Skin Cancer Surgery and during the last 15 years has undertaken a post graduate training program in Skin Cancer Surgery. This led to his achievement of a Post Graduate Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and he has completed a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine with the University of Queensland. He now spends almost all of his professional work time in Skin Cancer Surgery and travels from Chinchilla fortnightly to practice at Hope Island General Practice.
