Dr Thao Lam graduated from Sydney University with honours, and completed her advanced Gastroenterology training at Concord, St Vincent’s and Nepean Hospitals. Dr Lam is currently a Staff Specialist at Westmead Hospital. She is a visiting gastroenterologist at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
Dr Lam has a particular interest in liver disease, especially in the management of viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease and the use of non-invasive tests for liver fibrosis such as the Fibroscan. Her other clinical interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, bowel cancer screening and prevention and management of functional bowel disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr Lam is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and is accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
