Dr Terry Gavaghan MBBS FRCP FRACP is a Consultant Physician in General Medicine, Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist. He graduated in 1972 from the University of New South Wales. He completed his training at both St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1978 and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1980. He is a member of Gastroentrological Society of Australia (GESA) and the Australian and New Zealand Gastroenterology International Training Association (ANZGITA). Dr Gavaghan moved to Canberra in 1980 and was one of the original physicians at Calvary Hospital, Bruce and also established a large private practice. Along with a distinguished group of colleagues he opened Canberra’s first private endoscopy centre in 1995 – Brindabella Endoscopy Centre, Garran ACT. Dr Terry has had a long and distinguished career in Canberra as a prominent general physician and successful gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He continues to see patients for endoscopic procedures every month.
