Tarney started Geelong Ophthalmology in 2007 after completing his training through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, followed by an oculoplastic fellowship in the UK. He has a specific interest in Oculoplastic and Cataract surgery, and is more than happy to manage any other general ophthalmic conditions as well. He operates through St John of God and Geelong Private Hospitals. He runs a public oculoplastic clinic at University Hospital Geelong.
