Tania is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with interests in normal and high risk obstetrics, vaginal surgery and ultrasound.
Tania achieved her medical degree with first class honours from the University of Tasmania (UTas MBBS Hons) in 1998, receiving the University Medal for the highest graduating student. Her initial obstetrics and gynaecology training was at the Royal Hobart Hospital, followed by three years in Melbourne. During her training in Melbourne, Tania developed a special interest in high-risk or complex pregnancies, gaining experience in both maternofetal medicine and ultrasound. Tania completed her gynaecological training in North West Tasmania, where she continued to build her interest and skills in vaginal surgery. She obtained her specialist qualification (FRANZCOG) in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2009. During her training Tania was awarded the RANZCOG medal for the highest mark in the O&G specialty exams in Australia and New Zealand.
Tania has spent the past 5 years working as a Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist on the North West Coast. During that time she has established and conducted both a diabetes in pregnancy service and a high risk obstetric service, while maintaining her gynaecology practice.
