Interventional cardiologist specialising in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using transradial approach, adjunctive antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy and heart disease in women.
She has special interest in myocardial infarction secondary to conditions unique to women or seen more often in women, such as Sub Acute Coronary Dissection (SCAD),and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
Dr Mukherjee recognises the responsibility of being one of less than 20 female interventional cardiologists in Australia and New Zealand. An important part of her research is on identifying the differences in coronary artery disease symptoms and treatment between men and women which would lead to better CVD outcomes in women.
She has presented her research at global platforms and has participated in numerous clinical research projects. She speaks internationally on increasing awareness on Women’s Cardiovascular issues and gender equity for Women Cardiologists and Physicians.
