Dr Susie Allanson has more than thirty years’ experience as a clinical psychologist working with children, adults, couples and families, supervising and teaching health professionals and students, and researching in the area of women’s health. Susie is author of various peer-reviewed articles and the book, Murder on His Mind (Wilkinson, 2006).

Susie has a special interest in the challenges posed to women and men by pregnancy, reproductive health and parenting, anxiety, loss, depression, stress, childhood and other trauma, and adjustment difficulties.

Integral to any therapeutic work is basic management strategies for anger, anxiety, depression, grief, stress and so on, a collaborative approach with clients and, when appropriate, with other relevant professionals. Depending on the circumstances, clients can benefit from a one-off session, ongoing psychotherapy, the occasional “booster” session, or may be referred to other appropriate services.
