I obtained MBBS degree from the University of Sri Lanka in 1978 and MSc (Medical Genetics) from the University of Glasgow, United Kindom in 1986. I was admitted to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as a Fellow (FRACGP) in 1999. I practised as Medical Officer in the following places:
