Dr Stephen Knipe is a General Paediatrician. He was born in Scotland but grew up in Ireland and attended The Royal School in Armagh. In 2001, he graduated from Glasgow University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery and Bachelor of Science with Honours. Stephen completed his internship in Scotland before moving to Newcastle, NSW with his Australian wife and then in 2003 commencing paediatric training. He has also worked in Paediatrics in Maitland Hospital and Lismore Hospital. On completion of his Fellowship training in January 2010, Stephen settled in Newcastle to work at The Newcastle Paediatric Clinic and at John Hunter Children's Hospital. Stephen enjoys all aspects of General Paediatrics but has a particular interest in Neonatal and Early Childhood Paediatrics, having been appointed as a Paediatrician in neonatology to the Newcastle Private Hospitals busy Maternity unit.
