Dr Stephen Douglas is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in conditions of the hip and knee. Dr Douglas is consulting locally in Ballina at St Vincent’s Hospital & John Flynn Private Hospital.
Dr Douglas graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 2006. He then went on to practice as a Junior Orthopaedic doctor in the UK before relocating to Australia in 2013 and completing his Orthopaedic training in Sydney. Following this he undertook a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at Gold Coast University Hospital in 2023. Dr Douglas’s skills include hip replacement (including direct anterior approach) knee replacement (with an emphasis on functional alignment), robotic arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, sports knee injury management, and common hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, DeQuervains tenosynovitis and Dupuytren’s disease.
