Dr Simon Buchanan is a clinical psychologist based at our Essendon and Hoppers Crossing offices. He has completed a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology and a Master of Science. He has experience in working with children, adolescence and adults with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, behavioural difficulties, school refusal, family conflict, parenting difficulties, interpersonal problems and self-esteem issues.
Simon’s practice is predominantly based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but he is also experienced in using Mindfulness-based techniques and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Simon also has a particular interest in family therapy and can see family and groups together when appropriate.
Simon has previously worked in a child, adolescent and family service and an anxiety disorder clinic that worked with adults and adolescents with anxiety and related disorders.
Simon works with clients under various Medicare schemes, TAC, WorkSafe, Comcare and other third party funding bodies. Private health insurance rebates may also be available to you.
Simon is available at our Essendon and Hoppers Crossing offices, including weekends.
