Trained at the University of Wales, College of Medicine, Cardiff, Dr Siân Ford was practising as a solo GP and visiting Medical Officer to Queensland Health for 13 years prior to the devastating 2010 flood in Charleville. Additionally she worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service providing female GP services in remote areas for over 10 years.

Dr Ford has interests in many medical fields including Rural and Remote medicine, Women and Children’s health, minor skin surgery and Preventative Care. In addition, she is the School Doctor for The Glennie School Boarding Community and visits the school a number of times a week.

Dr Ford is currently a Director of RHealth (previously Southern Queensland Rural Division of General Practice) a member of the St Vincent’s Hospital Regional Advisory Committee and is a Council member for The Glennie School, a private Anglican girl’s school.

Siân has experience in Health programming, Not for Profit Organisations, Audit and Risk, Corporate Governance and also as a Medical Educator and GP Supervisor training health professionals and students.

Dr Ford is now the proud Principal GP of Middle Ridge Family Practice whilst also enjoying the challenge of operating a family business in Charleville. She was nominated in the 2012 Queensland Rural Remote and Regional Women’s Network Strong Women Leadership Awards for her business skills.
