Shiva graduated from Sydney University in 1990. After completing physicians training at RPAH , advanced training in cardiology and echo fellowship at POWH he has been working in the Sutherland Shire since 2001. He looks after a broad spectrum of adult cardiac patients and has specific interests in cardiac imaging and medical education. He performs transoesophageal echo and diagnostic cardiac catheterisation and reports cardiac CT at the SHC. He is a staff specialist at the Sutherland hospital where he supervises advanced training in Cardiology.
Continuing Education/Teaching/Research: Shiva coordinates cardiology teaching for medical students, residents and registrars at TSH. He is co-supervisor of cardiology advanced trainees in the Sutherland/St George/Prince of Wales network and with them has continued research interests in cardiac imaging and clinical cardiology. He regularly attends local and international cardiac meetings. He also speaks regularly to a broad range of audiences from patients in the local cardiac support group, to GPs, and fellow cardiologists. Shiva has been an examiner for the RACP since 2008.
