Dr Shihui Lai is a passionate general practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer, committed to the ongoing delivery of up to date, holistic and preventative healthcare to her patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. She is dedicated to working with patients to address their health concerns, as well as educating and empowering patients to take an active role in maintaining their health.
Dr Lai graduated from Western Sydney University in 2011 and has extended her professional knowledge of skin cancer management for the past 5 years. Continuously improving her clinical skills through ongoing education, Dr Lai holds a Professional Diploma of Dermoscopy, Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery. She is particularly interested in the field of skin cancer detection through comprehensive skin cancer checks of patients of all ages and has worked in a dedicated skin cancer centre for many years, providing medical and surgical management of the disease including biopsies, excisions, suturing and cryotherapy in different regions of the body.
Since the skin is the largest organ of the body, Dr Lai believes that preventative skin checks are part of a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. She is passionate about dermoscopy as it is the first and most crucial step in skin cancer detection and management.
Dr Lai speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay and is passionate about personal development, practising mindfulness, and photography.
