Dr Shawn Richards graduated with first class honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 1978, becoming a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 1985.
He undertook a Fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, USA in 1988-1989, where he trained in Mohs’ surgery, advanced skin surgery and laser therapy.
On his return to Australia Shawn commenced practise in Mohs’ surgery at the Skin and Cancer Foundation at Westmead, Sydney. He became the co-director of the Mohs’ Surgery programme at Westmead and director of the laser clinic. With over 30 yrs of clinical experience Shawn is regarded as one of Sydney’s leading laser Dermatologists. Having stepped down from his roles at the Skin and Cancer Foundation at the end of 2018, Shawn elected to work at Inner Sydney Dermatology. He now works exclusively in the area of laser and cosmetic dermatology.
