Dr Shalini Bastiampillai is a Respiratory and Sleep Disorders physician. Her clinical interests include interstitial lung disease, general respiratory and sleep medicine.Dr Bastiampillai completed her basic medical training with the University of Adelaide, attaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2002. In 2011 she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and in 2012 she completed a fellowship in Interstitial Lung Disease at the Royal Brompton Hospital, UK. Currently, Dr Bastiampillai holds a public appointment at the Western Hospital, Footscray. Privately, she consults with Western Respiratory and Sleep Clinic in Footscray and Williamstown and Manse Medical in Hamilton. She is also a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), Australasian Sleep Association (ASA), European Respiratory Society (ERS) and American Thoracic Society (ATS).
