Dr Bethi, completed his basic medical training (M.B.B.S) from India, in 2001. He left to UK in 2002, where he pursued specialist training in mental health across North West of England. He became a member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2007 and completed a certificate in specialist training (CCT) in 2011 with an endorsement in liaison psychiatry. He also has a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from University of Manchester, UK. He worked as an integrated and lead Consultant Psychiatrist (2011-2014) for an NHS Trust and moved to Australia in 2015, where he attained his Fellowship in Nov 2016. He currently works as an integrated Consultant Psychiatrist and is also a clinical lead for acute adult inpatient mental health services at Gold Coast University Hospital. He has a special interest in liaison psychiatry and had complemented his skills further at The Walton Centre of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Neuropsychiatry, Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology in Psycho-Oncology and Wirral Cognitive services in alcohol related brain injuries. The former two are regional and tertiary NHS hospitals in the UK. He is also trained in the administration of Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R), used in the diagnostic evaluation of Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Having said this, Dr Bethi’s core training is in adult mental health and he offers diagnostic and holistic treatments across a range of conditions. He has a special interest in affective and personality disorders and trained at a tertiary specialist affective disorder services in Manchester, UK.
