Dr Selva Mudaliar has been a consultant physician in rehabilitation medicine since 1995 and he is a specialist in legal medicine.
He was the director of rehabilitation at Peninsula Health from 2002 to 2009.
He is an examiner for the Faculty of Rehabilitation RACP. Currently, he is a visiting consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital rehabilitation unit and St John of God Hospital at Frankston.
He has a special interest and has been involved in the medical management of patients with chronic pain at Frankston Pain Management since 1998. He sees all patients across the spectrum of pain problems but specialises in neurological & musculoskeletal pain and those likely to benefit from rehabilitation and functional restoration. He will also perform medico-legal consultations and write medico-legal reports.
In addition to being a rehabilitation physician he is also a fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine, tutors in Medical Law at Monash University, is a member of the RACP expert legal advisory committee and is a member of the Victorian Incident Review Panel that has been set up to investigate major incidents in Victorian public hospitals.
