Dr Saks is a comprehensive ophthalmologist practicing general ophthalmology including cataract, glaucoma and medical retina. He completed his medical degree at the University of Pretoria and then obtained fellowships in ophthalmology from the Colleges in South Africa and United Kingdom. He obtained his Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists after completing his registrar time at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Saks has undertaken numerous volunteer “Sight Saver Tours” to assist in supplying eye care and ocular surgery to the under-privileged in Africa. He has gained experience working in ophthalmology at the Cambridge University Hospital, Addenbrookes, in the United Kingdom and has also completed a course in Aviation Medicine.
