I am providing care for the women in the North West of Tasmania for last almost 3 years as a specialist in O & G in the Tasmanian Health Service. However, working as a private Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for last almost 2 years, has been really a great and satisfying experience. I feel the women in this region deserve a standard, high quality, evidence-based care which can be individualized best by a private O & G specialist with appropriate experience in this field. I have bonded very well with the women whom I have cared for and every birth of a new baby that I have brought to this world, has been such an amazing experience. My team of dedicated midwives have helped me to make this such a successful and great experience.

I have extensive experience in O & G for nearly two decades, working in different parts of the world including Australia, UK, Middle East and India. I worked in tertiary hospitals in London (Queen’s Hospital), Newport (Wales), Westmead Hospital (Sydney), Sunshine Hospital (Melbourne) & Royal Hobart Hospital before starting a new chapter in a regional hospital like NWRH, Burnie. My training in Obstetrics is enriched by working in Maternal and Foetal Medicine departments of busy hospitals like Queen’s in London or Westmead in Sydney. My interests in O & G ultrasound originated while working in the busy MFM unit of Westmead hospital. I gained considerable experience in laparoscopy while working as Fellow in Melbourne & Hobart.

I have treated women from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds with respect and empathy. Providing a holistic, woman-centric care, has been a cornerstone of my management. Personally, as a mother of two young boys, I understand the bliss and the challenges of motherhood. I am lucky and proud to have a husband who is also a Paediatrician. As a private Paediatrician, he takes out his time to look after babies after delivery to ensure they get a baby-check from an experienced consultant. He also has special interests in children with behavioural or developmental issues.
