Dr Sarita Jassal is passionate about good health as a foundation to enable people to live the best lives they can live. She understands that good health in the future starts with good decisions in the present. With this, she focuses on inspiring and empowering patients of all ages and stages to improve their health through a holistic paradigm. In the setting of illness or a confronting diagnosis, she helps patients not only to restore wellness but to regain confidence. Sarita is particularly passionate about good (and tasty!) food and its role in nourishing the body and optimizing health.

Sarita grew up in Melbourne with a mix of Eastern and Western influences and values. She has been a GP for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1993. After completing her General Practice Fellowship and Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she moved to Christchurch, New Zealand where she lived and worked for 5 years. Following her return to Melbourne in 2004, she commenced work as a GP in a specialist Women's Health Clinic. She also took up work as an assistant surgeon in theatre, assisting mainly Breast, Colorectal and General Surgeons. Sarita continues to work in these areas, but is excited to be expanding her knowledge in the field of Integrative Medicine, where her passion has always been, with ongoing study in this area.

Sarita and her husband are transitioning towards a more balanced life on the Mornington Peninsula, in step with their philosophy on health and wellness. Other than good food, Sarita also loves travel, being in nature, camping, swimming, hiking, reading and spending quality time with friends and family.

Sarita is thrilled to be part of the team at Whole Medicine. Her particular interests are nutrition, gut health, preventative health, stress management and women's health. She has always considered it a privilege to hear her patient's stories, which give meaning to their past and present and which help to guide their future. She looks forward to getting to know the Peninsula and its people.
