Sarahn has always been drawn to children throughout her life, and she followed the same path in her medical training. After 7 years at university, then 3 years of junior medical training, and after finally completing 7 years of specialist training in Paediatrics she obtained her fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatrics and Child Health in 2015.

Sarahn is passionate about all aspects of children’s’ health and welfare, and aims to help families navigate through these challenges. She enjoys seeing children with simple to complex problems, with particular interests in development and following up bubs who have spent time in Neonatal intensive care, medical issues, autism, promoting healthy lifestyles, and kids with chronic and complex conditions.

Sarahn is a mother to two girls, and knows from first hand experience, how challenging being a parent is, especially when things don’t go as planned.

During her training at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, she was also involved in teaching for the University of Newcastle Medical Program and has completed further studies in Clinical Education. She continues her interest in teaching with being an instructor for the Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course and involvement medical students and junior medical trainees at John Hunter Children’s Hospital. She continues to keep up her acute skills by working at the Paediatric Emergency Department on regular basis.

She looks forward to working with and supporting local General Practitioners to care for the kids of the Hunter and Central Coast Regions. Ultimately her goal is to make sure kids, and their families, are happy, safe and as healthy as can be.
