Hi I’m Dr Sarah Martorella, I have been a registered and practicing Osteopath for more than 20 years.

​My work in the health and fitness industry over the past 25 years has had me working as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, masseur, bowen therapist and long-standing lecturer at RMIT University within the Osteopathic Department.

My preferred method of practice is to combine osteopathic treatment with very specific exercise prescription and self-help strategies so that over time you can manage your own ailments and spend more time being pain-free. During a treatment, I might use joint mobilisation and articulation, cupping and dry needling, cranial, fascial and functional techniques. And while all this is happening, I’ll be teaching you how to look out for potential problems and how to look after your own body.

I love my exercise and fitness and value its role in my own physical and mental well-being. I have plenty of experience in working with the general population for sports and exercise-related injuries but my particular aim as an Osteopath is injury prevention. With older adults, I have a special interest in managing joint replacements, and caring for patients with osteoporosis, arthritis, dementia and incontinence (hopefully not all the above for any one person)! For growing bodies, I concentrate on a thorough assessment and then managing the demands of sport, study and other daily loads placed on kids today with appropriate treatment and advice.

Beyond Osteopathy, I love long rambling walks, creating edible gardens, jogging, yoga, playing with my young son and crazy Lagotto and last but not least, travelling and going on adventures with my family in search of warm weather and the sea.
