Dr Samantha Barbour is a Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes. She graduated from medical school at the University of Queensland in 1997. She completed a fellowship in Paediatric Oncology in Brisbane in 2006. This training was undertaken at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in the UK and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the USA. Training at leading international centres has provided her with a broad view of cancer care.

After returning to Brisbane and working as a consultant Paediatric Oncologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital, she commenced Radiation Oncology training in Brisbane in 2011. In early 2015, she completed the Fellowship examination and was awarded the Uhr Clark Bursary Award for the phase 2 RANZCR examination. She then worked as a Radiation Oncology Fellow at The Princess Alexandra Hospital with a clinical and research focus on breast cancer, lymphoma and gastrointestinal malignancy. She was awarded a Fellowship in Radiation Oncology in February 2016 and has subsequently worked as a consultant at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Radiation Oncology Mater Centre.

She has an interest in a broad range of cancers with special interest in breast cancer, lymphoma, gastrointestinal cancers, lung cancer and paediatric cancers.
