Dr Sam Yuen is a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist, practising all aspects of adult haematology with particular interest in leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, clotting and bleeding disorders. Having obtained his medical degree at the University of Western Australia, he undertook his Physicians training in Sydney and the Hunter region, before choosing to settle in Newcastle in 2004. Sam completed his Haematology training between both Calvary Mater Newcastle and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals, holding dual qualifications with the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He also undertook a fellowship year in leukaemia research after being awarded a Cancer Institute Grant in 2010. Sam is currently in private practice at the AIM Centre one day a week, remaining committed to the public sector at the Calvary Mater Haematology Unit the remaining 4 days of the week. He also holds admitting rights and clinical privileges to Lingard, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Private hospitals. In his spare time, Sam has a passion for cooking, travelling and photography.
