Sam was raised on a cattle property in remote North Queensland before moving to Townsville to attend Medical school at James Cook University which fostered a passion for improving regional access to women’s health care. After completing medical school in 2009 he moved to Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane to chase a comprehensive education in Women’s Health. His Gynaecology and Obstetrics training occurred throughout metropolitan, regional and rural Queensland with specific exposure to Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery and Rural and Remote healthcare. He specifically spent an advanced training year in an Advanced Laparoscopic surgical unit on the Gold Coast that focused on complex endometriosis surgery, management of large multi-fibroid uteri and hysteroscopic resections.

Sam’s career aim is to empower his patients and allow them to experience first class treatment despite being in a regional setting. Sam has made a permanent relocation to Warrnambool with his wife, Belinda, and their two children. He enjoys caring for women experiencing all gynaecological issues but has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery. He is thrilled to not only improve access for patients but also to improve specialist access for our General Practitioners so that together the team can provide an exceptional service to the women of the South West Region.
