Dr. Sam Mirzaee is a consultant cardiologist and PhD research Fellow at MonashHeart. Sam completed basic physician training at Eastern Health, prior to advancing his interest in medical research by undertaking a Research Fellow position at Barwon Health with concurrent postgraduate Masters at Monash University in 2012. He completed his advanced training in cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane with placements at Townsville Hospital, and subsequently joined MonashHeart in 2016. Sam has participated in a number of international multi-centre clinical trials and presented his work in several national meetings. Sam has a particular interest in assessment of chest pain in patients with non-obstructive coronary artery disease, endothelial function and lipid management. His current project is to determine the application of several novel modalities to depict the underlying mechanism of abnormal contractile reserve to exercise.
