Dr Rathanayake was born in Sri Lanka and worked for six years in a Tertiary Care Hospital there. He speaks Sinhalese. Although the newest member of the Mackay Family Medical Practice team, he has been living in Mackay for six years where he previously worked at Mackay Base Hospital in the emergency, orthopedics and medical wards. Dr Rathnayake is registered in the Australian Medical Board and is a Fellowship candidate of the Royal Australian College of GP’s. He is happy to welcome new patients to the practice and has special interest in the areas of paediatrics, emergency care, chronic disease management, men’s health and contraception options.
