Dr Ruma Dutta (MBBS, FRCPA) completed her undergraduate medical training in Nigeria. Ruma moved to Australia in 1991 and completed her Australian Medical Council examinations in 1993. After several years working as a clinician at Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney, Ruma commenced her histopathology training at the Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research (ICPMR) at Westmead Hospital. Ruma was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2004 and served as a specialist dermatopathologist at Dutta Pathology from 2005 to 2010.
In May 2010, Ruma and Dutta Pathology joined Laverty Pathology, where Ruma has continued to work as a specialist dermatopathologist until deciding to join Kossard Dermatopathologists in June 2016.
Ruma is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and a member of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society. She regularly attends national and international dermatopathology conferences. Ruma also conducts regular tutorials for pathology registrars and teaches cut-up technique to laboratory staff.
