Dr Ru Dee Ting qualified as a cardiologist in 2009, completing his advanced training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Subsequently, he undertook a PhD and a Masters of Clinical Trials with the University of Sydney at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre and the Heart Research Institute. His research examined the impact of renal disease on cardiovascular risk and the effect of fenofibrate on the microvascular complications of diabetes. He is currently a clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney clinical school and a senior clinical lecturer at the Macquarie University clinical school.
Dr Ting sub-specialises in interventional cardiology. He completed his fellowship at St Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, training in coronary angiography, right heart studies, intracoronary imaging and coronary angioplasty. In addition, he trained in structural intervention including atrial septal defect and patent foremen ovale closure, MitraClip and transcutaneous aortic valve implantation. He practices at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Macquarie University Private Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital.
