Rod commenced practice in Gisborne in 1979. He graduated at Melbourne University, spent a combined total of 8 years at the Royal Children’s and Austin Hospitals and 5 years as a General Practitioner before deciding on a "tree change".
Rod was joined in partnership by Dr. Kulbir Gill in 1985 and Dr. Steve Newton in 1989.
Rod sold his share in the business to Dr Heena Choksey in July 2009 but still remains employed.
Rods major area of interest is in Sports Medicine. He has been the Chief Medical Officer for Taekwondo Australia since 1995 and was also the medical officer for the World Junior Athletics team in Bulgaria in 1990. Rod loves working with children and this is driven by his 20 years experience in obstetrics.
Rods hobbies include sports, music and enjoying lots of laughter and dancing.
