Dr Younan has been working in the area of clinical psychology for almost 10 years. She works mainly with adults who suffer from chronic depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders and personality disorders; namely borderline, dependent, avoidant and narcissistic personality disorders. Her main style of evidence-based techniques used is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy. Dr Younan also has an interest in group therapy and was the director of the group schema therapy department at the Victoria Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital in Prahran, Victoria. Dr Younan is the co-founder of Psychology Associates Melbourne, and is the director and founder of The Schema Therapy Institute Australia.
Dr Younan is certified in schema therapy at the advanced level, which allows her to supervise psychologists wanting to learn this style of treatment and become an accredited Schema Therapist at the basic or advanced level.
Dr Younan is a member of the Group Schema Certification Committee for the International Society for Schema Therapists.
