Riitta grew up in Tully in North Qld, and gained her medical degree at the University of Qld in 1992. After completing her internship at the Mater Public Hospitals she moved to Maryborough and was a junior doctor at the Maryborough Base Hospital. Riitta then gained her diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and completed her training with the RACGP. Riitta joined the MFMP in April 1996 which means she has just completed her 20th year at the practice. Riitta enjoys the wide spectrum of general practice but has a particular interest in Women's Health and Skin Cancer Surgery. Riiitta is also the Director of the University of Qld's Hervey Bay Rural Clinical School, she trains a cohort of medical students across the Fraser Coast each year. Riitta currently works part-time at Maryborough Family Medical Practice.
