Dr Redmayne has now practiced for 30 years in Alstonville, treating the community’s varying dental needs. It is indeed a special community in which he enjoys the many friendships that he has built over this time. Richard is married to Robyn with 3 adult children – James, Grace and Georgia. They have all attended local schools and participated in the many sporting and cultural pursuits our local area is abundant in. He was proud to be president of the Apex Club in the year it built its Pavilion at the Showground and also awarded an Apex National Service award for it. Richard along with a small team of community minded men organised motor shows and other fundraisers in order to repay this building cost without any government assistance, except for your community support. Richard has also spent much time involved in junior cricket coaching and administration at a local, district and North Coast level. He still enjoys a game in 2nd grade Coastal League with many of these juniors playing alongside him. He also enjoys tennis, gardening, walking and reading (mostly dental but some lighter topics). He is passionate about good dental health and has promoted this at all levels of care. Prevention of disease and lessening impacts of Dental disease is emphasised. Richard enjoys the complex variety of dental procedures now available to dentists to help maintain and rehabilitate dentitions. He is renowned as a gentle, caring dentist in the community. He has attended many continuing education courses over many years as well as being involved in organizing these locally for the ADA. Richard was fortunate to attend an International Dental Congress recently in Hong Kong concerned with the growing burden of dental disease worldwide.
