Prof. Richard Kefford is Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney, Chair of the Division of Medicine, Westmead Hospital, and Director of the Westmead Institute for Cancer Research.
His major clinical interests are the medical management of breast cancer and melanoma. His reputation in the field has been recently recognized with the awarding of a NH&MRC Program Grant of nearly A$8 million which, together with senior colleagues at Sydney Melanoma Unit will investigate the molecular determinates of the risk, progression and treatment response in melanoma.
Professor Kefford is Consultant Medical Oncologist to the Sydney Melanoma Unit and the NSW Breast Cancer Institute. He is a member of the Research Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council and Chairs its Project Grants Committee. He is a member of the Medical Oncology Group, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
