Dr Reza Rahbari is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Revesby. Dr Rahbari obtained his primary medical degree at the SBUMS University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. He then completed his specialty training at Brisbane’s Mater Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital. Dr Rahbari obtained his fellowship as a Radiation Oncologist in 2016. He found a passion for cancer care, and as a result began research into head and neck cancer with his mentors at Princess Alexandra Hospital. In 2011, Dr Rahbari joined the Northern NSW training networks. He continued this training at Calvary Mater Hospital Newcastle and North Coast Cancer Institute Lismore. He then moved to Queensland where he continued to gain experience at Mater Hospital and Princess Alexandra hospital. Dr Rahbari obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologist in 2016 and continued as a fellow at the Princess Alexandra and Gamma Knife Centre of Queensland. Dr Rahbari was awarded RANZCR David Wigg’s Prize for his collaboration and research in radiobiology. In addition he has presented at national and international conferences. He has also been a peer reviewer for the Journal of Oral Oncology and Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is a member of number of national and international cancer trial institute, including; TROG, COGNO, ANZUP, ASTRO and ESTRO and International Society of Geriatric Oncology. He has a passion in caring for elderly oncology patients and geriatric oncology, in addition to special interests in the treatment of Skin and head and neck cancer, breast, Prostate and GI cancers. Dr Rahbari is fluent in English and Farsi.
