Dr Renald Portelli graduated in Medicine from the University of Melbourne, in 1980. After 4 years of general, largely hospital based jobs, he went on to specialise in Anaesthesia, commencing his specialist training in Taunton, England. Returning to Australia, he completed his training to obtain his Fellowship from the New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He has practiced as a specialist since. Dr Portelli currently works in the private system, being accredited at several hospitals. Dr Portelli is a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the Australian Medical Association, and continues to participate in ‘Continuing Professional Development Program’.
