Dr Raymond Sy is a cardiologist with a special interest in heart rhythm disorders.

After being awarded the university medal in medicine at the University of Queensland, he undertook cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Hospital. He subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Sydney as well as a two-year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

His particular expertise is in the ablation of cardiac arrhythmias and the implantation of devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. His research interests include inherited arrhythmia syndromes and atrial fibrillation and he has published extensively in these areas.

Dr Sy is on the academic staff at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University and he also serves as the electrophysiology editor for the Heart, Lung, Circulation journal. He currently performs ablation and device implantation at Concord Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Mater Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital.
