Dr Rakesh Kaushal is the founding partner of Riverway Medical Centre. He graduated in 1982 from the prestigious AIIMS College in New Delhi, India. Dr Rakesh has been a medical doctor as part of the Indian Sports team in Asian Games and Olympics.
Dr Rakesh worked in Tully with his wife (Dr Kiran Kaushal) for 5 years before he moved to Townsville. He has now been in Townsville for over 10 years. He has special interest in General Medicine, Sports Medicine, Mental Health, Travel Medicine, Employment Medicals, Preventative Medicine, Minor Skin Procedure, Dermatology, Aged Care and Chronic Illness.
Dr Rakesh enjoys teaching and training medical students and GP Registrars. He is also an examiner for Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) Exams.
