Dr Rachelle Smyth (MBChB RCGP RACGP) completed her medical training in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery (MBChB.) She has worked in various hospital positions including emergency medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, ear nose and throat, and diabetes. She did her GP training in rural Scotland and Oxfordshire, England, and became a Fellow of General Practice in 2005 (RCGP / RACGP). Rachelle enjoys travelling and has worked in hospitals and GP surgeries in Scotland, England, Ireland, and New Zealand. Rachelle, her husband and their 2 young boys decided to move to Australia in 2009 and Rachelle worked in a Cairns GP clinic for 2 years before moving to the Sunshine Coast 4 years ago. Rachelle feels she has found the place where she wants to settle and is excited to work with Medicrew. She is interested in all areas of General Practice including kids’ health, women’s health, antenatal care, chronic disease care, mental health care and musculoskeletal health. Rachelle also enjoys running, cycling, surfing and hanging out with her boys when she has a spare moment.
