Dr. Rachel Barry is the Owner and Clinical Director of The Station on Tanti, Family and Women’s Clinic est. 2017. Dr. Barry was raised in the beautiful coastal city of Cork in Ireland. Graduating with honours from University College Cork in 2007, Dr. Barry went on the complete her hospital internship in one of Ireland’s foremost centres of excellence, Cork University Hospital. Dr. Barry’s comprehensive training includes disciplines such as Accident and Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Dr. Barry has a particular interest in Women’s and Children’s Health. She has a Diploma in Children’s Health from The Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. Dr. Barry has been delivering Women’s Health Care on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 5 years. One of Dr. Barry’s key focus areas is Family Planning and Contraception. She has completed further training in this area is also qualified to insert long acting reversible contraceptive devices such as Implanon and Mirena coils. Although being involved in full time clinical activity for the last number of years, Dr. Barry has also managed to fit in getting married, becoming a mother of 3 children including twins and moving her family across continents to the Peninsula. Dr. Barry is excited about the opportunities and challenges that working on the Peninsula brings and is particularly looking forward to bringing her experience in the practice of family and community based medicine to Mornington Coastal. “Being from Ireland, family and community are at the very centre of General Practice. Australia and Ireland are quite similar in this respect and I’m looking forward to seeing how my experience translates in the Mornington community.” Dr. Barry enjoys travel, Crossfit, baking and anything that gets her out in the sunshine. Dr. Barry feels life is all about balance.
