Dr Prema graduated and worked in India before moving to Australia in 1996. After passing her AMC exams, she began working in Frankston Hospital. Dr Prema then began RACGP training in rural and regional Queensland, and after gaining fellowship she returned to Victoria and practiced in the Frankston area for 11 years.
