Dr Willemse qualified in South Africa in 1997 and then moved to Canada where he obtained his GP specialist certification. In 2008 he permanently relocated to Australia with his family and joined the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as a fellow. While being a general practitioner, Dr. Willemse also enjoyed critical/emergency care for many years– working in the Emergency Room and as an admitting VMO.
Since 2011, he has focused on GP practice only and enjoys the variety and challenges of general practice.
Dr Willemse consults on all aspects of Family Medicine and is well skilled in procedural work including skin cancer management.
He believes a large part of the future of GP care lies in Lifestyle Medicine and preventative care, which allows a more holistic approach to chronic disease management.
