Philip Hoffman is a cataract and ophthalmic surgeon. He completed his medical training at Monash University and residency at the Alfred Hospital. He also graduated in Master of Health Ethics at the University of Melbourne. He was awarded his Fellowship in ophthalmology in 2007, completing his fellowship training in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom following his registrar training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr Hoffman has a special interest in cataract as well as eyelid surgery and performs laser assisted cataract surgery. He maintains a strong interest in general ophthalmology including management of diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration. He provides the latest treatments for wet macular degeneration, including intravitreal Lucentis and Eylea injections. Currently, Dr Hoffman is a visiting specialist at Western Health and also practices privately.
