Phil is a urological surgeon with expertise in robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and urologic cancers. He believes in individualised patient care, with a strong focus on the doctor-patient relationship. He takes the time to ensure that all patients are fully informed and are involved in the decision making process. Phil endeavours to deliver the kind of care that he would expect for his own family.
Phil is a specialist Urological Surgeon with expertise in robotic, advanced laparoscopic and general urologic surgery. He has a special interest in prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer and has established the only robotic cystectomy program in Melbourne at the Epworth and Royal Melbourne Hospitals specifically for patients with advanced bladder cancer. Phil has a high volume practice in robotic surgery for prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer. He also performs robotic surgery for benign conditions, including benign prostate enlargement and reconstructive surgery of the urinary tract. Phil performs approximately 150 robotic and laparoscopic cases per year and in 2018 was awarded the Peter J Dohrmann medal for his research in robotic surgery from the Epworth Hospital.
